Hi friends and family! Wow! I’ve now been in Germany about 2 1/2 weeks. It has flown by. I have learned so much about Father, myself, and the people around me. Many of you read my Amsterdam Updates. There are a few differences between what I did in Amsterdam and what I’m doing here. First of all, in Amsterdam, it was me, and the 2 girls I was leading. We did a lot of pr walking and sharing in specific sections of Amsterdam. A few weeks into being there, we had a team of students come for about a week to do the same, and the two girls I was with led those students. I was in Amsterdam for five weeks.
Here in Germany, I have a co-Team Leader named Jack, and we have the blessing of pouring into 15 amazing guys and girls. We are pr walking and sharing when the opportunities come, just like Amsterdam. Since I’ve been here, we have had a team of one week students come in, and we got to watch and encourage as our group we’re getting to lead led that team around the city to do ministry. The harvest here in Munich is so plentiful, but the workers are few! We’re really thankful for the one week students who came in and joined the work of pr ing and sharing and building relationships.
Today we will have another team of one week students come in, and our students will once again lead them.
When we don’t have one week students here, we have taken the opportunity to rest, refuel in the Word, grow as a team, and continue pr ing and sharing with people in specific communities. When teams of one week students are here, Jack and I plan logistics for the day and go out to different sites to see how our students are doing.
The first week I was here, I was running on pure adrenaline in learning a new culture so quickly and adjusting to life in Germany vs. life in The Netherlands. After that, Father started working on my heart and my mind. Leading up to this summer, I have been struggling with rest. Sounds a little contradictory, huh? I couldn’t just sit, and my mind was constantly running and running, and I couldn’t focus. I knew something needed to change, but I tried and would just get overwhelmed. Life wasn’t even that crazy before I left, but I was making it stressful. Since I’ve arrived here, it’s been crazy. I am trying to meet everyone, learn a new public transportation system, stay faithful in the Word, and adjust to a new culture. At the beginning I really struggled with focusing on specific tasks, and when I would try to sit and be still, my mind was always going. Slowly but surely, through my accountability group here, I’ve been challenged to rest – to sit in who Father is, even if I feel like I have a hundred things to do. To remember that He “has given us everything required for life and godliness…” and I cannot do this on my own (2 Peter 1:3). It’s brought joy back into the work I’m doing here and back at home.
Please pr for:
-Our one week students! Pr that the leaders can pour into and serve them well this week.
-Continual boldness to share with everyone we have the opportunity to meet.
-Our friends that live here have a daughter who is sick. Pr for healing and strength for her and her family.
-Me, that the lessons I learn will translate into to my life when I get home.
Thank you for the love and support!
